What Is VydLock?

VydLock is a WordPress plugin that forces visitors to your website to share your post in order to watch a video on it.

The idea behind it is to get more people to share your posts in order to bring in more free traffic.

Is this plugin really worth the money, or should you just skip it altogether?

Let’s dive in and figure out what I think!

Pros And Cons

Let’s quickly go over some of the things I like about this plugin and some of the things I don’t like about it!

You need traffic to start for it to work
Many people still won’t share

Over these next few sections I will briefly go over what I mean with each of these bullets.

The Good Things

First off, I just want to point out that I totally agree with the fact that this will probably get you more shares.

Having your visitors share your posts on social media is always a great thing no matter how you look at it.

There is a good chance that shares will bring in more visitors from social media, and Google even likes shares which can cause your posts to rank higher and search.

This plugin is incredibly easy to use and can help you out in several ways, however there are a few things you need to think about before you buy it.

The Bad Things

First off, this plugin isn’t really as great as they make it seem on the sales page.

I mean I don’t know about you but if I come across a video on a website and I can’t watch it without sharing the post, I’m probably just not going to watch it.

Well that, or I’ll just take the title of the video and search for it on YouTube.

The only way that I personally would share the post, is if I really wanted to watch it, and I didn’t have time to get on YouTube.

That’s not to say that other people won’t share it, I’m sure it will lead to more shares, just not as many as you might hope.

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you don’t have any traffic to your website in the first place, you aren’t getting any shares.

Anyways, I also found out that you don’t even have to share it in order to watch the video.

You just have to click the share button that pops up, then close out of the popup without actually sharing it.

Conclusion

In my own opinion, I think that this plugin has too many problems with it to purchase.

I honestly think that VydLock

I’m sure some people out there may benefit from purchasing it, but I just think there are more important things to worry about.

If your desperate for traffic, getting a few extra shares isn’t going to bring in a lot of extra traffic.
