What Is WP Content Guard?
WP Content Guard is a WordPress Plugin that protects all of the content on your website from being stolen.
For example it gives you the ability to stop others from directly linking to your files and images, copying pasting your content as their own, prevents people from looking at your sites source code and much more.
Let’s dive in and find out whether you actually need this plugin or not.
Pros and Cons
For every program or plugin I review I like to create a list of pros and cons to help you get a better idea of what it’s worth.
Pros:
- Guards against various problems
- Good working plugin
- Easy to use
- Good Support
Cons:
- Not everyone needs it
- Only works for WordPress
- Up-sells
WP Content Guard Features
Let’s get into everything that the plugin does, and everything you will be getting if you purchase it.
If you decide to purchase WP Content Guard, you will be able to enable all of the following features.
Hotlink Protection – When enabled this feature makes it so that no one will be able to create links that directly lead to the files and images on your website.
Disable Right-Click – When enabled this feature prevents people from looking at your source code, and also prevent them from right-clicking on a download link or image, and getting the direct link to share.
Copy & Paste Protection – This feature is pretty self explanatory, it prevents people from copying and pasting your content onto their own website.
These are some good features, but do you really need them?
I’ll get more into that shortly.
The Price and Up-sells
If you decide to purchase this plugin, you will be able to get it for the price of $14.95.
However I want to make sure you are aware of a few add on items that they will offer you after you buy.
These up-sells include:
Up-sell #1:WP Content PRO ($27)
This upgrade adds some additional functions to the original plugin, and also includes a developer license.
Up-sell #2: Legal Suite PRO Developer Bundle ($27)
Another plugin by the same creators and developer rights.
My Personal Thoughts
In my opinion this is a pretty solid plugin that I’m sure will be useful to many bloggers, and other creators out there.
However, I don’t think it will be necessary for everyone.
Personally I will not continue to use this plugin because I really don’t think it is that necessary for me to have it.
I’m particularly picky about the plugins that I use on my website because they tend to slow down your website’s performance.
At this point in time I don’t seem to have any problem with the security on my websites, and my content seems to be ranking fine without the help of the features it offers.
Yes it would be annoying if someone started copying and pasting your content onto their website, but honestly that has never happened to me before.
However if it did, I will be sure to remember this plugin.
Conclusion
WP Content Guard is a good WordPress plugin if you are looking for a plugin to protect the content on you website.
Personally I don’t think it is necessary for my websites to have it, but you may think differently.
If you want to get ahead of the problem and have this plugin just in case, be my guest, it’s not expensive.
However In my opinion I think that WP Content Guard…
Obviously that’s just my opinion, there is nothing wrong with the plugin itself, I just don’t think you need it unless you are already having the problems it stops.
My Recommendation
If you have a WordPress website and are having problems ranking the content that you post, I suggest that you Read About My Top Ranked Program!
I have a couple of websites and have never had a problem ranking my posts, because they taught me how to do the proper keyword research.
My websites have earned me enough money to quit my job, and work full time from home.
When I say full time, I mean I work maybe a couple hours a day.
