Tip 1: Having The Right Mindset!

I kid you not when I say that this is one of, if not the most important part of creating a successful business.

You can come up with the best ideas in the world, but if you don’t have the right mind set then you won’t be able to push forward through the hard times in order to reach the success you so deeply want.

So what kind of mindset do you need?

You need to have the mindset that you are going to push through any obstacles that may arise, and persevere until you reach your goals.

That is the mindset you need in order to succeed with your online business.

Throughout the journey of growing my websites, I have read through many “how to’s” about creating successful blogs and most of them will tell there success stories.

Most of them talk about how they started their business and took off after a month or two, and within 6 months they were making $30,000 a month and living the big life.

Yes it is possible for that to happen, and I know of several people who have had success online similar to that; however, that can create an unrealistic expectation for you.

I know when I first started out online and read all of those posts on Pinterest that said “How I went from $0 to $100,000 a month in 6 months” I thought that I would see similar results.

I thought hey, if they can make $100,000 a month that fast, then I can easily get up to like $10,000 a month in that time.

Don’t get me wrong, you should definitely strive to reach success as fast as possible, learn all you can about how they achieved their success.

Just make sure that your expectations aren’t too high, and you keep in mind that it’s not going to be that easy.

You will hit road bumps, fall on your face at some point, and probably feel the urge to just give up.

But the ones who never give up are the ones who succeed.

Tip 2: Never Give Up

This tip ties closely in with the first tip, but I think it is important to cover it on it’s own.

When you read about people who have achieved success online, it is easy to look at their stories and think…

“In just a few months to a year from now, I could be living the high life while working from home”

On paper a few months to a year seems like an incredibly short time to achieve financial freedom and online success.

Don’t get me wrong, that amount of time is incredibly short to achieve the level of success and freedom an online business can give you.

However, when you are working hard and putting in hours of work to reach your goals it feels like forever.

Trust me on this one, when I started out I completely underestimated the amount of motivation it was going to take to sit down at my computer and write everyday.

At first it’s not so hard because everything is new and exciting, but after a month or two of working with getting nothing or very little in return, quitting becomes something that starts to move forward in your mind.

Just trust me, persevere because success is just around the corner.

Tip 3: Get Proper Training

I wholeheartedly believe that getting the right training will increase your odds of succeeding exponentially.

Good training will put you in the right mindset, and give you the strength to never give up.

Personally I don’t think I would’ve succeeded online without the amazing training and community over at Wealthy Affiliate!

I literally spent months trying to figure out how to make money online, and actually gave up for a few months because it wasn’t working.

Getting the proper training gave me the confidence to power through the hard times because I knew the steps I was taking had already led hundreds, if not thousands of people to the success I so greatly wanted to achieve.

Yes there are people who achieve success with their businesses without training, but I can guarantee it was harder than it would’ve been with it.

Training will help you focus on the important things you need to be doing, instead of being all over the place and wasting time on unnecessary things.

Tip 4: Set Goals

Setting difficult yet achievable goals can increase your productivity and motivation to reach success.

A good goal will help you further narrow down the important things that need to get done, while also giving reason to work.

I didn’t set any goals when I first started out, and that could be why my motivation died out after a month or so.

Competing with yourself and striving to reach the things you desire will help you do more work.

Here are my tips for setting good goals:

1. Make sure your goals are challenging! If you are pretty sure you can write 3 blog posts a week, challenge yourself to write 4.
2. They must be achievable! If you set a ridiculous goal to write 10 posts a week when you normally only do 3, you may not be able to achieve it. If you can’t achieve them, you won’t have to motivation to try.
3. Make them specific! If your goal is to just write more, then writing one extra post would pass your goal. How much exactly do you want to write.

Your goals don’t have to necessarily be about writing. What is most important to you?

Find that out and set a specific, difficult yet achievable goal to strive for!

Tip 5: Make Working A Habit

In order to have a successful home business you have to make working towards you goals a habit.

In my opinion, the best way to make a habit is by setting a schedule and making every effort to stick to it.

When I started my first blog my schedule looked a little something like this:

• Monday: Come up with post idea, write an outline, start writing it.
• Tuesday: Finish that post if need be, do other tasks.
• Wednesday: Come up with post idea, write outline, start writing.
• Thursday: Finish post, do other tasks.
• Friday: Come up with post idea, write outline, start writing
• Saturday: Finish post, do various tasks
• Sunday: Finish leftover tasks

It was pretty simple, but it got me to achieve my goal of writing 3 posts a week, and sometimes I’d even write more.

The most important part of setting a schedule is sticking to it.

Once you get in the habit of following your schedule, you will get to the point where you feel terrible if you don’t.

This will give you the motivation to sit down at your computer everyday because you have a reason too.

Setting a schedule also saves you from having that debate with yourself about whether you should work or not, because you’ve already decided you are.

Yes picture frames.

You love finding crazy, cool and interesting picture frames to hang your family photos in.

Well why don’t you turn that hobby into a business?

That is absolutely possible to do!

How Can That Be A Business?

Affiliate Marketing is basically just selling other people’s items online in return for a commission.

Think about it.

If you were to create a website where you found and picked out the coolest, best looking, and most unique picture frames and recommended them to people.

You could earn a commission for every person that went on to purchase them.

And it doesn’t stop there.

You could recommend whole picture frame setups.

Picture frames, shelves for them to go on, curtains and lamps that match them, the possibilities are endless.

You could even earn commissions from those online places that print off and ship out family photos.

You may even be able to land a sponsorship from them.

That’s literally just off the top of my head, I’m sure with research you could come up with plenty of other ideas.

Now I’m not saying that you should go into the picture frame business, but I just wanted to show you that anything can be turned into an online business if you know how to do it!

The best way to make money in 2017

What I just explained above is the best way for you to make money online in 2017.

Affiliate Marketing is an incredible online money making opportunity that you should absolutely take advantage of just like I have.

There is quite a bit that goes into it, but I promise that anyone can do it.

I started my online business when I was working a full time job and going to school part time.

I was able to build that business out enough to quit my job and focus on it as my full time job.

It wasn’t easy, it took quite a bit of work, but thanks to the training at Wealthy Affiliate I was able to become my own boss.

How to Succeed In 2017

It is certainly possible to succeed with an online business in 2017, and these are my biggest 4 tips for doing so.

Get Training:

This is my #1 tip for succeeding online and I’ll explain why. I tried for months and months with no success without training.

After attempting to make money online for nearly a year with no success, I gave up.

I was scammed several times, lost more money than I made, and wasted too many hours to count.

I didn’t find success online until I joined Wealthy Affiliate and put all of my effort into the easy website they walked me through creating.

Choose something you love:

This is something else that is incredibly important when doing affiliate marketing.

You will be spending a lot of time working in the niche that you choose and I promise it will be much easier and faster if you choose something you love to do.

Even if it is finding weird picture frames!

Treat it like a business:

When you create a website, you are creating a business so treat it like one.

Don’t treat it like a hobby that constantly gets put on the back burner.

Treat it like it’s the business that is going to change your life, and I promise you that it will.

Set specific times that you will work on it. For me it was every night when I got off work.

Set goals, plans, and schedules and I promise you will thrive.

Don’t Give up:

Honestly none of the other tips count if you don’t follow this one.

I gave up at one point, but luckily I didn’t completely give in.

The people who succeed online are the ones who persevere and never let the bumps in the road stop them from reaching their goals.

The one thing that every single person who has succeeded online has in common is the fact that they never gave up!

It is absolutely 100% possible to make money online in 2017!

Through the use of affiliate marketing, and training you can take advantage of the 3.2 billion people on the internet.

Getting more traffic to your blog is the #1 most important aspect of making money with it.

If no one is coming to your website, there is absolutely no way that you will make money off of it.

It is important to have your website properly monetized of course (Affiliate links and ads in the right spots, easy navigation, and plenty of other tricks) but if no one is there to see or click on them, you aren’t going to make any money at all.

Here’s How To Get More Traffic With Your Blog!

Two Types of Traffic

Paid Traffic:

Paid traffic is a term that is pretty self explanatory, you pay someone to help send visitors to your website. This is not something that I would recommend for people who are just getting started with their websites. Unless you have the extra cash to spare of course.

This can be done in a couple different ways.

The first and least recommended way to pay for traffic is through paid traffic groups.  These groups can be found on Facebook and various other places throughout the web.  Just do a google search and I’m sure you will find some.

Paid Traffic Groups:

Pros:

• Can get loads of traffic to your website sometimes for a small amount of money.

Cons:

• These groups are not always trustworthy
• The traffic is normally not targeted for your specific niche
• May or may not lead to sales and conversions

The number of cons for paid traffic groups is the main reason why it is my least recommend way to get people to your blog.

The second and most powerful way to get paid traffic to your blog is through the use of Google Adwords.

Google Adwords is a service that Google offers that allows you to put your posts on the front page whenever someone searches for a specific term.

I’m sure you’ve made a search on Google and seen the top few article that say “ad” next to them.

This can be a great way to get people to your website who are specifically interested in what you are talking about.

You pay Google certain amount of money every time someone clicks on your ad

Google Adwords:

Pros:

• Can get large amounts of traffic
• The traffic is looking for exactly what you are talking about
• Can increase conversions

Cons:

• Can become very expensive if you are not careful
• Takes away from overall profits
•  Can lose more money than it makes if your blog is not proper monetized

Free Traffic

Getting traffic to your website for free is the absolute best way to make money with your blog.

There are a couple of different main ways to do this.

Keywords

Picking the right keywords to target is one of the most important parts of getting your posts to rank in Google. Why you Google Adwords if you can get you content to rank at the top of searches without it.

This is where proper keyword research comes in handy. Keywords are just the specific words that people type into Google when they are looking for something.

Using the proper Keyword Tool is the best way to find keywords that a ton of people search for, but aren’t that difficult for you to rank high with.

The Keyword Tool that I use and recommend above all others is JAAXY. It makes incredibly fast and simple to find keywords that will allow you to rank in Google and ultimately get more traffic to your blog.

I’m not going to go too far in depth about how to do proper keyword research because I already covered that in this post here!

Social Media

Using social media platforms is another great way to get free traffic to your blog.

Most people now-a-days have accounts on multiple social media platforms. Use them as a way to share the posts on your blog.

You can also create separate accounts and pages to use as a way to get your content out there.

Content is Key!

The content that you write on your blog is the single most important factor of getting free traffic to your website.

If you create interesting and compelling content on your blog and target the right keywords, the traffic will come.

Good content is what will cause people to share your posts, and content is what will keep people coming back to your blog over and over again.

Traffic Isn’t Everything

Of course it is awesome to have hundreds or thousands of people read the content that you write on your blog…

But you know what’s better? Making a whole bunch of money while doing it.

There are many different and complex ways to get your website bringing in thousands of dollars a month with the traffic you get.

This post has barely even began to scratch the surface of all the things that need to be done in order to create a full time living online.

I’ve been reviewing online marketing programs for quite a while now, and I’ve developed a pretty good eye for scams.

Not all scams are the same.  There are blatant ones that are solely created to take your money and give you little or nothing in return. Then there are ones that are created with the intent to help you, but are over priced and complete rip offs.

Throughout this post I will be giving you some tips about what to look for, and how to know whether a program is a good deal, or if it’s a complete scam or rip off.

How Much Info Do They Give?

One of the first things that I look for when I find a new internet marketing program to review, is how much information they give you about what you will be doing.

Although I’ve reviewed dozens and dozens of scams I have also come across quite a few legitimate ones, and I’ll tell you right now, they all tell you exactly what you will be doing and how you will be doing it long before they ask for your money.

For example, my #1 recommended program let’s you know exactly what you will be getting when you sign up, and they even give you an amazing free trial.

If the program you are thinking of joining spends a bunch of time talking about how much money you will be making, and not a lot of time telling how you will be making it. You might want to think a little harder before giving them your money.

Over-the-top claims

Another thing that I see a bunch of these scams do is make a ton of crazy claims. If you read something that sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

They like to claim that you will make hundreds or even thousands of dollars a day within the first few days of joining the program, which is absolutely ludicrous no matter what you will be doing.

Don’t get me wrong, you can reach that level of success online, I know plenty of people who have, but it’s not going to happen over night. It takes a lot of work, perseverance and plenty of training.

No training required

If they claim that there is no training required because it’s a simple copy and paste method, they are completely lying.  There is no push button method that will instantly make you money without you having to learn anything.

I know it might be tempting if they tell you that once you give them your money, they’ll tell you the secret to make money online without any training, but it’s not true.

You have to take the time to learn how the online money making world works before you can start earning some of it for yourself.

High Price Tag

If you find a program that seems legitimate and doesn’t have any of the signs of a scam, but it costs several thousand dollars.  It’s most likely a rip off.

There are programs out there that will actually give you all of the information that you need in order to legitimately make money online, but they will try to take all of the money that you have in order to get it.

I know some of you wouldn’t even dream of shelling out that type of cash, but there are some people out there who fall for it.

Don’t be one of those people. Personally I think that it is worth it to drop SOME cash to get the proper training in order to speed up the process, and maximize the amount of money that you can make, but don’t shell out a ton.

Also be weary of the programs that start out at a high price, then offer to lower it down.

Up-Sells

This is something that you really have to be careful about when joining a new program.  Some scams will offer you a membership for around $5 or so, then when you join, they constantly throw other software and programs at you that they claim you have to buy in order to be successful.

In my opinion, whatever you pay upfront should give you everything that you need to be successful. Otherwise what was the initial payment even for if you won’t make money with it.

Not every program that does this is a scam though. There are a few programs out there that give you great initial information that will lead you to earn money, but will just offer extra things to make it easier. Personally I don’t like this, but that doesn’t make it a scam.

Keep in mind that the only things I’ve needed to make money online is a domain name, webhosting, a keyword tool, and some training. (Wealthy Affiliate includes all of this and more in their membership) Anything other than that is a luxury, or something that you really don’t need.

Conclusion

It’s important to do a full inspection before you give any online program your money, otherwise you will probably end up getting scammed.

These 5 tips should help you avoid most of the scams that are out there.

This is just a set of guidelines to follow when looking into a new program.  Not all of the programs that show these red flags are scams, and not all programs that don’t have these signs are legit.

Just follow this guide to make up your mind in the future.

Step 1: Create a Free Account at SiteRubix

There are several places online to create websites for free, but my personal favorite place to do it is at Siterubix.com, mainly because it is powered by Wealthy Affiliate, and they will walk you step by step how to create, customize, and bring in money with your website.

There are a few main reasons why SiteRubix is my favorite place to create websites.

When you get to the SiteRubix webpage, just simply enter in what you want the name of your site to be, and if it is available you will be prompted to enter in some basic information to create your free account.

Step 2: Choose What Site You Want and Name it

Simply choose whether you want a free website or a paid one, then choose a name and type in whatever you want the name of your website to be.

Whatever you type in the “Name your website” box is just what the title will say at the top of your homepage.  As it says next to it, you can change it at anytime.

What if someone told you that in just over a year from now, you could be making $10,000 a month online, from the comfort of your own home?  To many people, that might seem a bit crazy, but for Colton, it became a reality.

Colton goes by the username Parre in the Wealthy Affiliate Community, and has been inspiring members with stories and updates about how his work has been paying off.

By simply following the training at Wealthy Affiliate, taking action and putting a bunch of effort into his website, he has brought in thousands of dollars in the 13 months since he has joined the community.

In this article I am going to be telling the story that he has shared with the community, and going over how he has achieved such success.

The Beginning

Just a little over a year ago, Colton was a college student majoring in design, while working part time at a gas station.  He was trying to find out what he wanted to do with his life, and how he was going to reach the great success that he knew he was destined for.

On November 4, 2014,  he came across the amazing training and community at Wealthy Affiliate, and began his year long journey to reach $10,000 a month, and have the freedom to do what he wanted to do.

After 5 – 6 Months

At that time, he decided to make the bold decision to quit his job at the gas station, and focus 100% of his time and effort working on his website.

This is when his website began to take off, and grow at an incredible rate, but keep in mind that it didn’t happen on it’s own, it happened because he put in the work.

Month 13
